Nine cities in Niedersachsen have some out-of-the-ordinary things to offer –for every taste!
Braunschweig (Brunswick), Celle, Göttingen, Goslar, Hameln (Hamelin),
Hannover, Hildesheim, Lüneburg and Wolfenbüttel: these are “the_9
wonderful cities in Nieder-sachsen”. Under the motto “Discover new
things behind historic façades” these nine towns offer great diversity
combined not only with out-of-the-ordinary events, UNESCO World
Heritage Sites and whole streets of medieval half-timbered houses, but
also with lively city centres and modern shopping arcades and malls.
Events such as the International Firework Competition in Hannover or
the open-air-pied Piper Play in Hameln, medieval markets and
traditional festivals make history come alive here.
A visit to one or several of these historic cities can be excellently
combined with a tour of the Lüneburg Heath, the Harz Mountains or the
Weser Hills. All the towns are perfectly easy to reach: Hannover
Airport, which forms the region’s central point of arrival, and good
connections by rail and motorway enable you to get there quickly and
conveniently from any direction.
There is a Christmas Market in each of the nine cities during Advent,
all of them shi-ning out in seasonal splendour against a backdrop of
enchanting historic buildings. These are the most beautiful Christmas
markets in northern Germany, offering a wi-de variety of different
thematic elements: with a Christmas forest, a Christmas fairy-tale
street, Christmas variety performances and a Finnish Christmas market
to choo-se from, there is no question of your being bored even if you
decide to make a round tour and visit the Christmas markets in several
different towns.
A well-organised wallet of maps in ten different languages offers tips
and information on all aspects of the_9 Wonderful Cities. There are
also special brochures available on the subjects of shopping and going
out, Christmas Markets and stop-over offers. All the information can
